Practical informations:<\/strong> <\/p>\n With many well being retreats equipped with thermal baths, and several horse-riding clubs, the Chantilly region has a lot going for it. At the heart of the town, the Chantilly chateau, extensively rebuilt after the Revolution by the\u00a0Duke of Aumale<\/strong>, son of King Louis Philippe, is home to the\u00a0largest collection of paintings in France<\/strong>, after the Louvre. As well as the sumptuous halls of the main castle that house famous paintings, the Duke\u2019s personal effects, antique masterpieces, lavish furniture and a library of\u00a0precious rare books<\/strong>. The Duke and Duchess\u2019\u00a0private suites<\/strong>, rarely seen and nicely kept with luxury furniture and decor, are also an option to the visit, if required, with a local guide.<\/p>\n The grounds are full of\u00a0surprises<\/strong>\u00a0and we will discover their size, complexity and secrets (optional electric car). The charming\u00a0rustic houses<\/strong>\u00a0that date from the 18th century are a lovely spot for lunch and to taste the famous\u00a0Chantilly cream<\/strong>\u00a0(whipped cream). This little collection of houses and farms complete with windmill was built under the orders of the Prince of Cond\u00e9, and\u00a0Queen Marie-Antoinette<\/strong>\u00a0loved it so much that she decided to build her own \u2018hamlet\u2019 in the same style, which is still visible at Versailles.<\/p>\n After lunch we will visit the\u00a0great stables<\/strong>, built in the 18th century and considered to be some of the\u00a0most magnificent in the world<\/strong>. They are located at the edge of the world renowned\u00a0race course<\/strong>. You can admire many horses and ponies of different breeds before entering the\u00a0impressive domed performance ring<\/strong>, at the centre of the stables. In addition visiting to the Museum of the Horse, located in the outbuildings, you will also see an\u00a0equestrian show<\/strong>.
