Wetplate collodion photography in our studio

We will take pictures of you, but also of the people you love.

We will take time, using an old wooden camera, in the old way. Mixing chemistry and alchemy to produce pictures you can transmit to the next generations. Each one will be unique. A timeless masterpiece.

The wetplate collodion photography

You will travel to the middle of the XIX century. At this time, recording an image on a light sensitive medium was still an invention.

Before the photograph is taken, each individual plate must be hand-crafted in the darkroom, and developed immediately afterwards.

The plate is first coated with collodion and then sensitized in a silver bath. It is during the hand-coating and the development process that each photography takes on its own unique character, visible especially around the edges, caused by slight chemical variations from plate to plate.

Our photo Studio

Passionate by the beauty of gestures and know-hows of artisans, workers and artists, Aude has created her photo studio to conceive photographic and editorial series for both personal and commissioning purpose. Since 2013, Aude’s studio offers to go back to the origins, using tools and recipes of the pioneers of photography.

To take time is to value its importance, its grain, its texture. By rediscovering the gestures, materials and tools used by the first alchemists/photographers of the 19th century, we offer you the unique opportunity to get back to the basics : a split second of light and the eternity of silver.

The technique of wet collodion photography allows to produce an analogue photograph on either metal or glass in about ten to fifteen minutes. During the session, in which you will follow each step of the process, you will have the chance to realize how each photograph is unique, and why these instants are so precious.
