Meet artists and enjoy an exhibition in France’s most famous art creative venue.
Les Frigos is an artists ‘residency housed in the former refrigerated storage depot built in 1920 for all fresh food destined to the main Paris food market at les Halles.
Abandoned at the start of the 1970’s, it slowly became home to artists and artisans.
Normally closed to visitors, around 80 workshops are now located there, but also rehearsal studios for theater or musicians, a secret café, with homemade food and an art gallery for
temporary exhibitions and private events.
After a walk through the different corridors, filled with paintings, collages and frescoes, we’ll meet an artist in her workshop taking us through her creative process and background.
Another workshop in a different floor will open its door to discover another painter’s work and art.
The tour will end at the temporary exhibition gallery, housed in a restaurant known only by word of mouth!
The meeting point is outside Bibliothèque François Mitterrand métro station (Exit number 2), close to Darty store, next to 29, rue Neuve Tolbiac.
