At the end of the 19th century, the once-poor Batignolles district has benefited from the arrival of a younger, more dynamic population. Around the main street, the church, and the picturesque 19th-century square, numerous trendy cafes, restaurants, and boutiques have recently sprung up.

The significant presence of artists’ studios and galleries adds to the charm of this bourgeois-bohemian neighborhood.

Currently, the northern part of Batignolles, bordering the city limits of Paris, is undergoing an impressive redevelopment. It features a vast park surrounded by glass and steel buildings, designed by some of the biggest names in contemporary architecture. The new Paris courthouse, designed by Renzo Piano, completes the vista of the Batignolles district at the edge of the Boulevard Périphérique (Paris ring road).

After the park, the route leads to the more traditional northwestern part of Batignolles. Typical shops stand alongside more contemporary boutiques. Hidden passages, full of charm and calm, will also hold delightful surprises.

Walk in English organized for expats in Paris.

Small group tour (8 people maximum) 50€/person.
