Migration and multi cultural Paris : From the first migrant workers who came as a result of the Industrial Revolution in the 1840’s to massive immigration in the 1960’s.

This walk will explore different faces of Paris through various districts in the North and East of the city. Lively and creative neighborhoods such as Barbés and Chateau Rouge, with typical stores and restaurants. The Indian subcontinent district will follow, with exotic temples and food. 
After a short metro break, we’ll explore Belleville, one of the most vibrant districts in Pairs. Tunisian Muslim and Jewish communities share the streets with young Anglo-Saxon and French crowds coming for the nightlife. Belleville also hosts the second largest Asian district in Paris.

Starting with the lively Barbès market underneath the elevated métro and ending with a mint tea as well as a platter of delicious Arabic snacks at the superb Paris Great Mosque. This will be the final break after the walk. And also where the current situation as well as related topics and overall migration questions will be debated.
