Societe Generale bank art Collection

Société Générale imposing headquarters at la Défense, set in three towers next to the Grand Arche, houses a beautiful contemporary art collection. At first destined to the group’s collaborators, works of art are now dispersed into the group main centres, but the most valuables ones are housed in a gallery, with an overview of the vast hall where converge daily 20 000 workers.
Along with the permanent collection, a tour of American artist Fahamu Pecou‘s impressive temporary exhibition is also programmed.

Discover Société Générale bank art collection during an exceptional private visit!
Initiated from 1995, the Société Générale bank art collection is made of around 500 original works of art and 750 lithographies, editions and serigraphies, constituting one of the most important contemporary art fund assembled by a bank in France.
Structured around 3 axis: painting, sculpture and photography, the art collection mixes internationally well known artists’ works with new creators’s realizations.
This diversity has been more pregnant these last years with the bank’s acquisition policy turned towards young talents coming from emerging artistic scenes, echoing Société Générale group’s internationalisation.
The collection, exceptionally opened, houses works by artists such as Soulages, Alechinsky, Olivier Debré, Zao Wou-Ki, Philippe Ramette, Laurent Grasso, Stéphane Couturier, Alain Bublex, Vik Muniz and more recently, Jean Michel Othoniel or Fahamu Pecou.
The visit will also highlight many works of Fahamu Pecou, whose only temporary exhibition takes place at Société Générale’s headquarters at la Défense. A membre of the bank’s art collection will take us through the major paintings of one of the most important contemporary American artist.

Visit to be booked at least 2 months in advance, with mandatory agreement of the bank.
